I typed Steampunk into a Flickr search and found some amazing photos (if you’re interested in Steampunk fashion…) via katbret photography.

Steampunk is, essentially, Victorian themes plus mad science. Basically, really complex looking things (often powered by steam, hence the name) and randomly advanced technology, all sort of like the scientific advances people at the time were certain lay just around the corner. So, yeah, anything that looks like the unholy lovechild of a boiler and a spider is “steampunk”, also random tinted goggles and the like.
(A good webcomic with it is http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/, which is also, conveniently, a freaking hilarious comic)
